Removing endlinks...instead of front sway bar?
Removing endlinks...instead of front sway bar?
Can I do this while at the track tonight instead of taking the whole thing off....i have a nice little drive home and will hook it back up when i'm done...will i get a traction difference by just disconnecting the endlinks? And is this safe just for the strip?
Re: Removing endlinks...instead of front sway bar?
I am not sure what you mean, but removing the front sway bar isnt for traction, it is for weight reduction. So, unless you are talking about something else, then disconnecting the endlinks wont do jack for you.

and to answer your question yes you can just disconnect the links but, it all depends on how hard they are to get off, most the cars i put sway bar links on are broken off and rusted.... so if you can successfuly take your off and put them on then i say go for it also if you don't have any air tools then it will be a very long time turning that top bolt to get them off...

the off road guys have quick disconects for their endlinks. everything stays bolted up but with a pull of a pin they are good to go and then they just tie the sway bar up out of the way.

If your stock endlinks are anything like mine you will break them trying to disconnect them. Mine snapped even after soaking them with PB blaster for a while. That was with only 50k miles on the car and only driven through one PA winter, they are notorious for breaking. Get a pair of Energy Susp links to replace them, only like $10-15 a pair and a nice upgrade anyway. And yes it is a good mod for the track to disconnect them, you will get better weight transfer and better 60' times.

Good mod for the track. Just take the sway bar off completely, the endlinks are going to snap anyways. Mine had 28k on it with no winters and very few times in the rain. Just drive like a good boy and you'll be fine.

damn i must be good becouse i pulled my sway bar and endlinks about a year ago and didnt break one bolt and i didnt use and pen oil. i was hoping they would break becouse they are long threaded sobs. the rears didnt break either. i had over 80k on the car too.
