Regular oil pressure readings?! No probs, just curious-
Hey guys, I did a search and after reading through 20 pages of oil pressure PROBLEMS, I wasnt finding just the regular readings people have when their system is HEALTHY. My car is about 60 at startup and on the highway, and from 30-40 when I am driving stop and go. It doesnt bounce but fluctuates with speed. My motor was recently rebuilt, do you think I have a high flow pump in there or are these stock specs that I am getting. Thanks--

I just rebuilt my motor with a new stock pump, but with the white pressure spring and my oil pressure on idle is at 60psi and at cruising it is around 30-40psi. So I would say your oil pressure is fine.

i've been a bit worried the last few days...cant stop thinking about the oil pressure...in fact i've even thought about selling it and maybe picking up an LS1 SS (id have to save some money for a while though)
how bad is it? 20-22psi at warm idle...cold idle is a lot higher (40+)
Re: Regular oil pressure readings?! No probs, just curious-
If Iam not mistaken, GM specs for oil pressure at idle with engine at operating temperature is 18-20 psi. My Z that I recently sold was that way and the T/A that I still own is that way, no problems to mention.

Mine has read just below the first mark at warm idle since I bought it... No problems.. The rule of thumb used to be, at least 10psi for every 1000 rpm... I'm sure that still applies.
