in reguards to 1.6 rr's and pushrod length

im about to get my lt1 engine rebuilt....and make it a 355. Was wondering if i goto a 1.6 rocker does the length of the pushrod need to change? my mechanic friend told me to order some pushrods but i just want to make sure..i get the right length thanks for the help

I don't know of anyone that is changing the length of the pushrod when merely putting on 1.6 rockers. If you have your block decked, heads shaved or longer valves installed then you might have to think about it.

You probably don't need to buy new pushrods. The stock ones are hardened so u can use em with the guideplates your probably using with the RR's. If there bent or something you just need to get the same length as stock.

your probably right...but its going to be a blown 355..the only thing i havent changed is the lifters...but if its recommended i change em i will..the car had only 40k miles on it..before i decided to tear the engine down etc..now im just trying to figure out how to get a 9.5 to 1 compression ratio out of the 355..with the stock lt1 heads.....but..thats another story i suppose..lol thanks for the help
