Lighter blue -24s
lime green -42s

However, just because it's a certain color it doesn't mean it's a Ford injector. The Bosch numbers on them would help in identifying what they really are.

" It ran really rich, so I went up to 36 and it still pegs out at 108."
Is this only at WOT or during normal driving and idle too?

This is at at idle its pegged at 108, cruising it would hang around 118.

Find out the numbers on them to make sure they really are #30 ers. If they are then there is something goofy going on with your fuel pressure if its still running rich, maybe it running at a higher fuel pressure than you measured and swapping to the stock made it "better enough" to not notice the same problems?

I'm assuming the numbers are like this on both sides. If its just one side i'd lean towards something else other than fuel presure or injector size.

The number on the injectors are F1SE-E5A and 0 280 150 945.

If they turn out to be 30#ers then you have other issues. I would start checking for vacuum leaks or other problem areas.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I hope we figure it out soon.

They are the same on both sides, but I am starting to wonder if the return line isnt too small. The better enough comment is what got me wondering. I am going to disconnectthe return line and see if the pressure changes any. Its possible that the idle pressure, when the fuel needs are very small, is high and when cruising the need is higher and the fuel pressure may drop. It doesn't explain why I couldnt go WOT tho, but this little experiment might lead me toward the answer.

Re: redtop injectors bigger than 30# ????

did you have the ECU tuned for the larger injectors? if the computer still thinks they're 24lb/hr injectors, it will cause the 30lb injectors to squirt more fuel than neccesary. The computer will see it injecting the right fuel, but reading rich.

We already went over that on the first page.

LT1Rx7, what size return line are you running? Is it AN or something? I would first stick the vacuum line back on the reg to get the pressure down to 44 and then go to town on troubleshooting.

I drive with the vac line on, i pulled to vac line off to simulate 0 vacuum. I have a 3/8 return line, but the factory hardline on the RX-7 may be smaller, I havent verified that yet.

No. You set the injector flow constant for the "no vacuum" pressure, just as he did. When the vacuum is applied, it reduces the rail pressure to compensate for the vacuum in the intake manifold. Since the injector flows from the rail pressure (44psi) to the intake pressure ( -6psi), the differential pressure across the inector is still 50psi. An injector is not flow rated based on the rail pressure... its flow rated based on the "differential" pressure between the rail and the intake.
