Oh, here is the comparison post...

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...ht=pace+setter

Also, I personally don't care who coats them so long as they are done properly. I've had stuff coated by a relatively unknown guy named Paul Barry and another set coated by a local coater. Both sets came out looking incredible and still look incredible after being installed for some time. Those work just fine for me In fact, no attempt at all was made to coat the inside of the Pace Setter y-pipe where as I know for a fact the guy changed guns/pressure/something when he coated my headers to get as deep inside the tubes as possible. So, at least in this case, I think my headers were coated better than the Pace Setter y-pipe

no kidding, very intersting...hmmm I am with you Brent anyway - who cares who DOES the coating as long as it is done right.

either way, I hope UPS gets in gear and is ringing my bell in the next 48 hours

What kind of wait time is usual with RPE with a set of coated LT with the Y-PIPE? Reason is I am leaving for vacation on the 21st for 2 weeks I wonder if I should order them before I leave. If they come while I am on vacation I will be screwed since no one will be able to recieve them. But if the usual is about 3 weeks what the hell I will order them before i leave

It really depends on what you need and what is in stock at the time. Like I said, the headers I ordered came QUICK but the y-pipe took quite a bit longer. They had the headers read to go but had to get the y-pipe coated. Your best bet is to contact them with exactly what you want and ask them how long it'll take to get THOSE particular items.

I'm with you on that one. I still often times like to actually talk to somebody when making a large purchase. Not always but if I have any questions I prefer being able to make a phone call. But, I think so long as an email is answered QUICKLY like within a couple hours no phone might work out. But, if emails are only answered once a day or once every couple days, that might not be good.

Well then, I'll have to clarify my statement about answering in a couple hours... that doesn't apply if you email them in the middle of the night. LOL! What I was trying to say is usually us go fast guys want our parts and want them NOW and don't want to have to wait around all day or longer waiting on a simple question that a phone call could have provided in 10 seconds.

I don't order from GM Parts Direct because I think they way they mark up their products (with rediculous shipping!) is nutz but primarily because I can't talk to anybody! I guess when I'm ordering GM parts I NEED them and if I have to pay a couple extra bucks for the part to be able to call somebody like Jason or Dal then I will just to know they have it in stock and it'll be going out either that day or the next. It sucks to order something then be told it is back ordered and you have to wait for THEM to get it first

yea, "If" is the key word on the e-mails, i've sent 2 in the last 3 days and i haven't heard ****, man i would have some choice words for them if i had a phone number, hell if i would have known i would have had to wait weeks i would have bought some hookers and paied at least a hundred more. I think the whole phone number thing is bullsht, its just a cop out.

That's not going to help the people that are needing help now. If they are having trouble getting back to people now it's going to make it worse for those who have actual questions if they have 10 times the amount of mail to sift through Plus, if they end up losing a few customers because they are too slow to respond to email, a good business will realize this and do something about it... either reply faster or put the phone number back up

No we haven't closed, we had to shut down business over a week ago for a week due to a very unfortunate misshap.

We have an extreamly large amount of LT1 headers that have shipped in the past 2 days.

You all need to understand one thing, we are not the only company out there selling these coted headers. It is the prime time of buying headers at the moment. EVERYONE and their grandmother is buying coated headers and Pacesetter cannot keep up with the demand and neither can the ceramic coaters. Along with the other 75 different types of headers being coated. There just isn't enough resources available to deal with this great demand. Sometimes I'm getting 3 to 4 orders a day for ceramic coated LT1 headers.

With our prices being so amazingly good we are getting slammed with orders and are overwhelmed. ALL outstanding header orders have shipped as of yesterday. ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL OF THEM.

So no we haven't closed, we had a few set backs with out facility and now were back up and running normally again.

On another note..

Yes Brent the whole drill thing is true, the only reason why I don't advertise who they are coated by is because they use 2 coaters when they are behind in coating. So at times not all headers are coated by jethot. Plus pacesetter likes to have their own name on the coating.. Its respectable.

In addition to what is going on here at RPE. We are doing a business renovation. Which includes the opening of 2 more companies that are an online based wholesaler to the public. All 3 websites are going under a complete new look. We will be opening a clutch wholesaler that will provide ALL of SPEC, Centerforce and McLeod's line of clutches at the MINIMUM Price possible by the manuf. Also www.headersdirect.com will soon be a seperate identity company retailing SLP, MAC and Pacesetter headers at great prices, under RPE Industries. Also we are changing how orders are recieved and processed. Everything now is done manually and automatic in a way. So the computer takes on a lot of responsability of its own and some orders can get messed up. But now that is all changing, we have a new order system coming along great, and in the past 2 weeks we are trying to convert to this new system and stay up and running.. Of course until we lost our entire customer database and our order system at once, and then pacesetter being behind in the delivery on the headers, it has been a bit slow at our business. Its not that I don't want to take your calls, and respond to your emails.. But it is extreamly hard to do it all and still find time to even take a leak. But we have come above the clouds finally and we are about another month away from getting these 2 other sites going along with the renovation of RPE.

Also we no longer make F-Body suspension parts anymore. We just can't keep up with the orders along with the million other items we carry. Its just too much. So I'm hoping that dropping RPE suspensions and this new system we will be back on top of the game. As I have seen in many posts I have a large amount of satisfied customers that have raved over our customer service and have always had great things to say about my company.

About you being on vacation and your order. I will put a set of headers aside for you and when you order them they will go out right away. BUT PLEASE email me directly for this, do not place your order online. chris@redlineperformanceengineering.com

LASTLY PLEASE TRY NOT TO CONDUCT BUSINESS WITH CZ28.COM and RPE. You are more then welcome to bring me up in threads and link to me.. I do not sell off of this site, only my website. BUT I am not a sponsor as of right now and I do not want to get into tif's with the admin of this board over advertising.
