Re: Rebuild

What kind of fuel system will be needed to feed the hp numbers? I know a larger fuel pump and i was thinking 42# injector.

Re: Rebuild

No offense, but that cam will not net 400rwhp on a 383 unless you have some incredible heads.

Re: Rebuild

Thats just what i was told by both the machine shop my uncle that works for federal mogel and a tech at comp cams that he knows. Im not sure what will come out of it. I just know that i was looking for 400 at the wheels going into the project and that is where ive been led so far.

Re: Rebuild

I don't know any actual numbers on Lingenfelter's 383 package he's offered since 92 for LT1's, but he uses ported LT4 heads with 2.02 intake, and 1.60 exhaust valves, a custom cam (not very big as this setup doesn't lope much, or at least a local LT1 I know of doesn't with this setup). He rates this setup at 440hp at the crank, but he's also been conservative with his claims. This package is also used with Borla headers and catback. I don't think LT4 heads have a definite flow advantage over LT1's once both are ported, just smaller CC's.
