What would be a good cat back for my 94 z28? I have headers and no cat, then 3 inch tubing to my crappy flowmaster exhaust now. What would sound the best? I want it to sound mean as hell, not like **it.

Oh and I plan to, when I can afford it to do a 383 stroker for it. ----AZ28

 

I like my hooker muffler, nice and smooth rumble. It's loud when you get on it, but not obnoxious. You could also put on a loudmouth system, but since you have headers and no cat it would probably be very very loud and sound mean (probably get you pulled over if your cops are d%cks). But sound is a very opinionated topic. I like the sound of mine (as do most who get it) but you may not. They have a soundclip of the hooker muffler floating around here somewhere, do a search.

I had the Borla and am now tryin to sell it. Good system but didnt sound good when I added LTs. If you're leaving on the stock manifolds then Borla is ok. Either way Hooker is far better for less than half the price. MUCH better tone. Good rumble to it. I'd vote Hooker.

 

Whatever you do, stay away from MAC. I know from experience that they suck! I currently have the SLP 2OTL and I couldn't be happier.
