rear suspension squeek

Were we able to isolate the problem of rear suspension squeeks? It squeeks when going over bumps, or simply driving on uneven pavement. It squeeks when shifting gears, and it also squeeks upon acceleration.

Any thoughts? This is driving me nuts for the past year.

Mines squeeks when i go over bumps and uneven payment. I haven't figured it out yet either. (must be something to do with Toronto roads ) I just turn the music up and try and drown it out.

If you are certain that it is outside your car and you have stock suspension pieces check your spring seats. Those are about the only things that tend to squeek. I belive there was a TSB for the bottom seats in '95 and if you brought your car in for the squeek they would add a rubber bushing on the bottom of your spring as well as change the top one.

Be sure to check all bushings EXPECIALLY the LCAs.

Ive found the sqweek to be the rubber isolators. I remved them and used heavy duty rubber hose wrapping the top of the coil. I did this for two reasons 1. To lower the rear of the car 1/2" more and 2.To remove the sqweek. I also filled the rubber hose with lithium grease insid and out. I also put a dap of grease on the bottom of the coil springs. All my LCA's have greas fittings so I keep them well lubed. So no more sqweeks.

If it's not from your shocks, then it's most likely from your rear swaybar bushings. There was a TSB for them I think, and what the dealers did is apply some teflon tape in between the bar and the bushing. I did this to mine earlier this year and I have no squeaks at all anymore. You can get under you car and pull it down to compress your rear suspension, then release it. By doing this, you should be able to isolate where the squeak is comming from. Good luck!
