Rear O2 connector location

I installed headers a few years ago and noticed recently that a rear o2 sensor connector on the passenger side - near the starter had gotten
severely melted due to being too close to the header. I replaced the melted connector/pig-tail and insulated & relocated the connector to prevent
this from happening again. I wanted to examine the other rear o2 sensor connector to make sure it had not been damaged but I can't remember where it is... can someone point me in the right direction?

The driver side O2 harness comes out of the driver side injector wire bundle toward the rear and goes down the driver side of the block to the O2. It is also on the same harness as the low oil sensor.

So the drivers side front and rear O2 sensors should be coming out of the same wire bundle?

I guess I should have asked for clarification. Are you're talking about the REAR O2s that you deleted, or the front O2s that you still need? It's kind of confusing.

I would imagine they would come out of the same harness (I have OBDI). I'm sure someone else can chime in. Sorry!

Yes, I am looking for a rear 02 sensor connector. I may be confusing myself more but I was thinking that the connector near the starter was for the B2 sensor 2, but now I am thinking that it may be the B1 S2 and I need to look
further back on the passenger side... I'll have to look again this evening.

B1 is the driver's side. The driver's side after-cat sensor was originally right under the driver's side cat, which bolted to the whacky triangular flange at the bottom of the driver's side exhaust manifold.

The bank 1 after the cat connector is on the pass side because the bank 1 downstream O2 is in the crossover pipe . It willl be the square connector and you have to look for it but kind of centrally located.

I just went through this on my 97

Thanks for the replies, I got stuck and work late today so I will check again this weekend. Sounds like it should be somewhat near the oil filter area.

Just to follow up on this thread. I located the 2nd rear O2 sensor connector - it is near the transmission tailshaft.
