Rear main seal

I got the old seal out and removed the 4 bolts, but the ring that the 4 bolts hold wouldnt come out. I ended up just replacing the seal on it... Is it okay to just keep that old semi circle gasket and re tighten the bolts?

You don't want to take off the seal holder. Just pull the old seal out and tap a new one back in and you're done.

The oil-pan gasket kit should come with a gasket that is for the aluminum piece, so you can change it if you take the pan off.
