Rear Caliper Weights

What do the circular weights on the rear calipers do? The BMR LCA relocation brackets say to cut them, but why can't you just leave them off?

They are vibration dampeners.

Would it hurt anything to just leave them off?

They are vibration dampeners for the brakes and I assume they are on there for a reason. When I put on my BMR bolt-on LCA brackets, mine cleared without modification.

I left mine off the only time it makes any noise is at 110 slowing down at the dragstrip (VERY hard stopping) although it does worry me a bit I've just been too lazy to cut them down and put them back on.
