Rear Brakes Question
I replaced my rear brake pads today and had the rotors turned. I noticed something suprising after I finished and still had the rear end of the car jacked up. I started the car and put it in drive and I could not stop the rear wheels from spinning with the engine at idle even with the pedal to the floor. I dropped the rear of the car back down and took the car for a ride and the brakes seemed to be working fine. Is this normal? I cleaned the rotors and pads with a ton of brake cleaner before I installed them and the calipers were sliding easily on their guide pins. The only thing I can think of but did not pay attention to at the time was that because the front wheels were not spinning the ABS was engaged and reduced the pressure to rear brakes??? I did not check if this condition existed before I changed the pads.
