Really Dumb Question

Getting ready to throw my new Comp R's (with the revised retainer) into the car. I have my mineral spirits, but I'm a bit fuzzy. Should I just quickly dip them into the stuff and wipe them off, or soak them for a second or two then wipe off??? All comps website says is to be washed thoroughly. Just want to make sure I'm not going to screw anything up.

Those would be the NEW retainers. The old style was nothing more than a thin wire around the edge which was really prone to failure.
