Real HP gains with these mods?

I was looking at a kit TPIS makes called the "fast pak", the maker claims it generates 34 HP, it includes an air foil, fuel pressure regulator, magnum spark plug wires, tpis air filter element, and a set of Bosch platinum spark plugs.

Also they claim that if you send the ECU chip or whatever it is to them, that they can do something called a "computer prom" which is suppose to add another 10 HP. Are these claims real and if so, should I give up buying headers and cold air intake for them?

What year is your car? (Add a "signature" with basic data to help people answer your questions accurately). If its newer than a 93, you can't send them the 'chip', you need to send the entire PCM, or get a mail order tune from an aftermarket tuner who will send you a new file to load with your laptop and the correct software. The tuners that work this board will give you at least 15HP with a tune on a stock setup.

The other stuff is, in my opinion, limited in value. The air foil has been shown to be only about 2.4 peak (5 avg) HP.

The fuel pressure regulator will gain you a quick 15HP, but the PCM will negate the gain as it adjusts the pulse widths to correct for the change in fuel flow at the altered pressure. Read the notes at the bottom of this one (93's appear to be more capable of seeing a gain. 94 and up nets you nothing).

Plugs and wires aren't going to give you anything, unless your current plugs and wires are faulty. The stock plugs and stock Packard 7mm wires are fine for a "stockish" engine.

How much you gain with the air filter depends on what kind it is.... but I think its safe to say you will NOT gain 34HP with that kit.

10ish HP probably if your engine is in good shape currently (plugs wires etc are ok).
Maybe a bit more if you had bad plugs and wires already
