reading codes?
take it from me, dont buy a crappy one that says it can do it because it cant. I just dropped about 280 on one from autoxray. im very pleased, it can scan GM, Ford and Chrysler OBD 1 codes, along with OBD 2 codes.
You can check for current codes and codes held in the history. it also allows you to see operational data as well. Good investment IMO

im in north-east kansas. Is there a way to do it with a paper clip? i know in my honda i used to be able to check codes with a paper clip, idk if it'll work on these PCMs tho. I drove probably 40 miles today after posting this, and no stumble or anything, kind of weird if u ask me.

no, which makes it odd. I even called autozone, they can only do 96+
If you have an OBDI scan tool, but it has the wrong connector, shoebox has how to use jumpers on his site.
I bought an AKM cable and have freescan to check codes and such. Well worth it and very easy to use. You'll also already have have of the package you need to do your own tunes. www.akmcables.com
