I wouldn't ask him to work on it any more. And what do you mean "non-ferrous metal bit"? There are special cutters for aluminum and they are different than the cutters for iron heads. And cutting speed is important since they will clog up or cut roughly and jump around if it isn't adjusted correctly.

<Dave whistles lustily...> Wow! Those are huge looking. My LE TFS heads will be shipped to me soon. Looking forward to the install in late Spring (unless this very moderate Winter here in Upstate NY continues ) When are yours going on or are they on now?

Re: rate these heads (hand ported)

LOL! They are going on now(ish). I just tore down the motor to the block this week. Cylinders looked good (great actually) so parts are starting to go back on. Driver's side motor mount was the first "new" part back on the car this morning. Will be slow progress as I grind rust, clean grease, prep and paint the resused parts.

I should probably do a build thread...

Re: rate these heads (hand ported)

I always enjoy the progress pictures. Please do post them. I'll do the same when mine get here.

I always try to accumulate parts/gaskets/etc beforehand but sometimes this backfires as I forget I already have some of them as the date approaches. Case in point, on Friday I paypal'd Summit, Jegs and Autozone for some stuff I JUST found I already had in my shop. I bought them last year and had forgotten. FML... lol....
