Why does my exhaust stink?

I just brought the t/a out to get the fluids circulating and gears turning etc. and was reminded of this. Ever since I got this new engine, the exhaust has smelled bad. Not that nice rich burning muscle car smell, but almost like a lean smell, and it sticks to you too. It sticks to hair and clothes and you stink the rest of the day. You can't smell exhaust in the car. A while ago a friend followed me down the highway and said he could smell it the whole time.

The car has been dyno tuned and my scanmaster reads the injectors and fuel trims as being right on the money. Exhaust set up in sig.

Cats might be bad.

Re: Why does my exhaust stink?

That's one of the suspicions I had. But since it didn't stink on the old engine and did stink as soon as I dropped in the new engine, that got me focused on the new engine.

Unless something used in the engine build contaminated the cats.

Good point. It actually only has one cat and I went super cheap with Car-sound. I've been looking for an excuse to switch it out with a Random tech cat anyway.
