Random choppiness in high RPM...

I'm about to replace my coil to hopefully solve this problem. But I would also like some suggestions on other solutions. The mods are here... Mods

OK, here's the deal. I am running all those mods on stock manifolds that have a crack on the passenger side because I am waiting on Jet-Hot to deliver my MACs I don't believe that this is the problem because it has been like that for longer than this issue... I originally had a problem with rockers being too loose causing a lot of noise so I readjusted them ever so precisely. The car ran fine with the rockers loose, but just made too much noise. After readjusting I've noticed random breakup from 5000rpm on up. It is driving me crazy. I know the rockers are fine. Car runs like a dream down low. Idles great and tears up 2nd and 3rd gear like its cool. I'm just feeling this little bit of jerkyness in the higher rpm's. I am absolutely sure that there is no vacuum leaks, fuel filter is new and so is opti (5,000 miles). The only other thing that I can think of it being is that I am just not getting enough fuel. I know how to check it but haven't gotten around to it yet. If I remember correctly removing the FPR vacuum hose causes it to run full open right? Is it possible my stock pump can't keep up with the fuel demand?

Now also keep this in mind, the car ran fine with the rockers loose, could it be that now my valves are opening up all the way now demanding more fuel?

Sorry for rambling, but what's worse 5 threads or 1 with all the problems

Thanks for listening everyone

MY 96 kinda does the same thig at about 5500 rpm but only after installing a "cheap" aftermarket opti! so i think that may be your problem too? but mine is like a hiccup its annoying but changing the is a big pita! so i'm gonna wait.

From: Orlando, FL,
it could be the opti or the wire from ignition to opti. I had a similar problem (very choppy engine above 5000 RPM) a few years ago and the wire replacement did the trick. Check for corrosion, cracking, or loose from the seat. You could probably get a new wire for less than $20.

When I installed my longtubes I replaced all plug wires with taylor ovc than my opti went out so I replaced it.than I had stumble around 5500 rpm so I finally replaced coil wire it did not help
I just bought an auto xray scanner so I'm gonna try to "catch" the miss in a snapshot but I'm sill trying to learn what all the damn numbers mean! like what is correct and what is out of range.
like I installed lt4 knock module but scan tool still shows 5-6 degrees knock retard is that too much?oops while accelerating.
