ran out of gas now..

The engine acts like it is not running on all eight or the timing is totally out of whack?

well it could be ur fuel filter got clogged up by whatever muck was sitting on the bottom of your tank, or maybe ur fuel pump overheated and is now on its way out. I would go try the fuel filter 1st.

Yep, fuel filter first but you may have overheated the fuel pump.
Never let the car run out of gas.
I have friends that are like "I don,t have the money to fill it up all the time"
Well, fill it up and then when it hits half a tank, put more fuel in. It works out the same way and you don,t kill your pump.

I do not think it is the pump. I instaled a new Walpro less than thre months ago. I think the computer has the timming so out of whack beacuse it was knocking so hard when it ran out. I am going to try a pcm reset.

Well I put on a new filter and still have the same problem. It must be the pump beacuse I have to pump the pedel to keep it running.

Glad it was not your pump.
I bought a 1LE intake elbow just so I would not have to worry about that.

The funny thing is that since I changed my fuel pump the gauge is alittlte off so I dont trust it and thought I ran out. It acts just like it with that hole exposed.

I ran my 94 Z out of gas and the guage was like a quarter of a tank off after that. It said 1/2 tank after putting the 4 gallons in to start it. It went away after a couple tanks full of gas. It acts normal now.
