Ill say it again, half the battle is the tire PSI, its TOO LOW, start out 26 and work around there. Also practice launching, from there get it tuned.

I basically give it a little gas to take the slack out of the drivetrain. I'll bring it up right under 1K rpm and then floor when she goes green. Works pretty good for me.

Well, elguapo's profile says he's right outside my window; am I just supposed to believe him?

Up until this point, I had just kinda wondered if you really lived there, or if it was some sort of joke.

Thats no DA It will help to know what it was that day. I run at a track that is 90 ft above sealevel. I ran one day and trapped 111mph the whole day (it rained earlier before I got there so the humidity was up). I then went back 2 weeks later with ZERO change to my car and trapped consistent 114's with just better weather. You might have had a bad density altitude and could un ~2-4mph better next time out.

That's understandable. Just sucks when you see bolt on LS1 w/ cam blow past you.

Re: Ran my 383 for the first time tonight

I flash my 3600 Vig off idle and let the converter and suspension do the work...I used to build rpm at the line, but I found that starting from a complete rest with no suspension/rpm loading I am way more consistent and dropped .15 off of my 60's...But I'd tune first to get the timing/A/F sorted out and then practice/experiment at the track...
