Question Radio/Power Windows Problems

Is there a fuseable link for the power windows and radio? I lost power to the pw/radio and have searched for bad fuses/relays and have found nothing. I have taken out the whole dash and used my multimeter and can not find anything. For now I am using a wire to jumper power to the fuses. Is there a fuseable link that I might be overlooking?

That's interesting, do you know which power wire behind the radio is dead?? It will either be constant +12 or switched +12. I think constant is red and switched will either be yellow or orange. Sometimes the constant is tied in with dome light, door chime and some other things. That's odd that they PW would stop working as well.

You might have to go to a small repair shop and see if they have a wiring diagram you can look at. I'm not sure if a Haynes manual is detailed enough.

The constant is still hot going to the radio. I have the Haynes manual but wiring diagram is not detailed enough. When I test the Radio(17) and windows(15) fues I get nothing, but if I take a wire from fuse 8(courtesy) and connect to the windows fuse they both work.

That's gotta be a relay somewhere then. You checked the relays for correct operation, did you check for them getting power??

Did you check the courtesy fuse? Are you jumping that fuse? I think that the radio splits off of the courtesy lamps fuse. Are the lights on your rear view mirror still working? I know that I've zapped the courtesy light fuse when I was wiring up a stereo, which killed my rear view mirror lights and my radio, but the radio fuse didn't blow. You might be jumping that fuse when you were wiring that up directly.

If the fusible link that provides power to that was out, you would have more things not working. Those two things are fed from the body control module (BCM) that is mounted under the RH dash on the HVAC duct. Check cavity "C" of the small black connector. Power comes from the BCM to the fuse panel on that wire.

I get a good reading on all fuses except the radio and power windows (fuse 17 and 15), but the fuses are good. The courtesy is the fuse I am using as another source to get power to those two fuses. If it is a fuseable link, what does it look like and which wires do I need to test?

Umm, maybe I was not clear. Your problem does not appear to be a fusible link. The power for those fuses comes from the BCM as I indicated. Drk blu wire. Did you check at the back of the fuse panel?

The BCM could have a problem, too, not allowing power to the lead.

Question BCM

The dark blue wire has no power going to the fuse box. I traced back to the BCM and the dark blue wire has no power coming from the BCM. Does anyone have a diagram of the schmatics of the BCM? I think the relay inside the BCM is bad. Maybe I can fix it if I knew which one. Thanks.

I had the same problem, just wire it in short mode (connect blue wire with another cable in fuse box, but make sure that it will the power )....There is a switch that shutdown windows and radio after doors are open, but the switch is under dash and I didn’t want to mess up with this...

Don't know of anything servicable in the BCM, probably all electronic and I have seen no internal schematics. You can diagnose the BCM with a procedure from my Tech Page (server appears to be down right now-check later).

The BCM is fed continuous power on the red wire "F" cavity of the black connector and power when the key is ON at the brn wire "D" cavity. If you have power going in there, you probably have a BCM problem.
