Racking my brain!!! How to get boot to slide over plug wire (the opti end of wire)??

Ok i've got my new wires on and everything is ready to roll except getting the end boots on the end of my wires and a little crimping (the end that connects to the opti). How did you guys get the rubber boots to slide over the wire? I tried a little of the lube that comes in the kit an thought maybe it would help. Well it really didnt help much. Im giving up tonight since its dark already. But in the morning im gonna try to stretch the inside of the boot out with a screwdriver and maybe it will go over the wire easier. Any ideas??

it is easy just take the rubber end and place it against a piece of wood so it stands on end then slowly place the opti end in then press agianst it do not squeez it with your hand just push agianst it it should go.

Lubricate liberally with silicone spray and elbow grease.

Cool

Might throw the boots in the clothes dryer, sounds dumb, but makes them more plyable=2 minutes, don't forget they are in there, then, greese them good with die-electric greese, and you are good to go.My02

I just did this a couple weekends ago. Used silicone spray and struggled. We ended up taking a large pair of long needle nose pliers, stuck them in the boot, spread it apart, and shoved the wire in. Just be careful to not spread it too far... you still want the seal to be good. Worked like a charm and no more struggling

i just did this yesterday. i put a cup of water in the microwave and then heated the water. let the boots soak in the water for a few and use lots of silicone lube. The boots went on pretty easy after that.

What I did was sprayed the wire and boot liberally with silicone spray, put the wire through and pulled it the rest of the way through the boot with pliers. I pulled the wire far enough through to cut and crimp the wire and then pull the boot over the crimped opti end/wire. Took about 25-30 min for all 9 wires (coil wire too).
