Re: racing fuel? yes or no

I saw an interesting magazine article a couple years ago, testing the Denso "lead resistant" O2 sensors. They put two in, one of them failed almost immediately on exposure to lead.

The effect of lead on the sensors is cumulative. The stock sensros are rated at 50 hours exposure to lead, which if you think about it is a fairly long period of time. Denso claims their sensors will last twice as long, not indefinitely.

I run the stock sensors in my collectors, mainly to plug the bungs (I run open-loop on an aftermarket ECU), and after a couple drums of C16 (6 grams per gallon), one sensor is still working, and the other appears to be reading incorrectly, when compared to wide-band data.

Some wideband sensors are rated for a total life on unleaded fuel of 500 hours, and 50 hours for leaded fuel. I've seen them die.

why dont you go back to that site and look in the top right hand corner and click on the part that says racing fuels?

OK... went back, and there's nothing in the upper right hand corner. "Near" the upper right hand corner, it lists:
-Concrete Sealers
-Curing Compounds
-Release Agents

So far, not much relevance.

On the left hand side, there is a "Racing Fuels" link, and it leads to some 112-octane (R+M)/2 leaded racing fuel, and Racing Grade Methanol.

Were you trying to show us a link to 110-octane unleaded racing fuel? Or are you suggesting that we should be using methanol to blend? Just trying to understand the point of your post.
