The Borlas are nice but very expensive, so that would be out of the question. I might be buying a true-dual setup from a friend and he has the dynomax bullets on there right now (the shorter ones), and his setup is very loud. Everything I have read so far confirms the loudness too. So would I quiet it down? I also don't want to go with big mufflers (like the Dynomax Ultra-flows) cause I think that looks kind of funny with a pair of mufflers that big underneath the car. Maybe I am asking for too much, but let me know what you think. Thanks.

How much are the XR-1s you mentioned? I have true duals with the Borla XS mufflers. Great sound but very quiet. I had the bullets and it was WAY too loud. These mufflers were only like $85 each as well. Not too bad I thought, for a stainless steel borla.

 

The Borla 3" in/out 12" long XR-1's are about $150 each. They are "loud".

 

Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers are quiet. I just put on a
17276 and I can barely hear the engine when cruising
on the freeway. I have cats though, which help a lot.

 

I say somewhere flowmaster has a new muffler like the bullets and Borla XR-1. Might be interesting. I must be one of few who have the bullets for a year and still not annoyed by the sound.
