quick swaybar install question!

i just installed new bushings on my swaybars but i am unsure of how far to tighten down the nut. i thought it would just stop tightening when it was ready but it never stopped and the top bushing was beginning to look like a pancake! so how do you tell if it's tight enough or not?
also, is there anything you can put on the bushings to keep them from squeaking? i've heard of this being a common problem with energy suspension bushings and other poly bushings

Snug the nut down, then the bushing should compress out about 1/8" or a little less.

I don't know about ES, but when I bought my Prothane bushings, they came with there own grease to put on the bushings...I guess you could use any kind of grease, maybe a lithium(sp) based grease....

Sounds like you are talking about tightening down the end link bushings.... not the bar bushing caps. ES recommends that you NOT lubricate the end link bushings.

Chiltons recommends 16ft-lb for the nuts on the endlinks.
