quick question about o2 sensors

OBDII (on-board-diagnostics) increased LT1 output by 10hp with the use of two catalytic converters and two heated oxygen sensors.
does this mean that models prior to 1996 (with the single-cat design) did not use o2 sensors?

Re: quick question about o2 sensors

No. They have two o2 sensors. One in each side of the y pipe right after the manifolds.

Re: quick question about o2 sensors

where would you relocate the o2 bungs when running true duals?

I don't have any experience with true duals but I would think you should put them fairly close if not in the headers.

Give it some time. It's 3:30 in the morning here for god sakes. Most people are sleeping.

Re: quick question about o2 sensors

I think most header companies put O2 bungs on their headers.

Re: quick question about o2 sensors

The pre-cat O2 bungs need to be located in the header collectors, as close to the merge as possible.
