Quick question...
Quick question...
Ok i think im having a problem but not sure. With the car on and running, if the heater is on in anyway, ac or just heater, the ac unit under the hood runnin off the belt always clicks on and off and on and off. Which keeps messin with the idle, clicks on idle drops, then goes back to normal.. etc. Is this a problem or do all camaros do this? THanks
Re: Quick question...
The compressor will only cycle like that when it is turned on. Certainly when the A/C is selected it will be "on" and cycling like that. The other point is defrost or feet and defrost on the dial. But the feet only should not cycle the compressor unless you have a seperate button for the A/C compressor. I have a 94 and it doesn't have the seperate A/C compressor button like my 99 pickup does. Does yours have the buton for the compressor? I'm not that formiliar with 97's. If so, see if it's depressed. That would cycle the compressor like you mentioned when the **** is in other positions.
Re: Quick question...
From what ive noticed, it doesnt matter where the **** is turned, it is always cyclin, so i usually keep my heat and everything off cause it is annoying. I figured it was a problem
Re: Quick question...
I Have A 94 Z28 Camaro And Because I Have A Radiator Leak And I Am Broke I Cant Replace It So To Keep The Car From Overheating And Pressurizing Itself Too High, I Run The Heater To Keep The Car Cooler. Now, When I Run The Heater, I Turn The Dial From Off To Either The A/c ****, Or Any Of The Indicators That Are Light Blue And This Seems To Turn The Compressor On And I Still Get Heat.
My Compressor Also Clicks On And The Rpm's Will Slightly Drop And
The Click Again And Rpms Will Go Back To Normal. I Am Sure This Is Normal. The Clicking Is Just The Compressor Starting Up And Pumping And Then Shutting Back Off.

Re: Quick question...
So really the only way to fix this is to remove my ac or what? cause i really get annoyed on how many times it clicks on and off with just the heat on and not even the ac
Re: Quick question...
I have a 97 and I am pretty sure the compressor only comes on when the A/C or defrost is on and not heat only. At least this is how I would expect it to operate...compressor on with defrost to dry the air but not needed with heat only. I'm in Fl so don't run the heat much but I am pretty sure my compressor isn't on with heat only.
Re: Quick question...
The Manual Says What Settings Will Turn The Compressor On And Off. I Think, But Am Not Sure, Shoebox Has Some Info On How Some Components Work. I Know When The A/c Is On The Compressor Comes On And The Low Fan Kicks On...might Want To Do A Search On Compressors And See What You Come Up With
