Question quick question

ok...I ran into a snag while trying to fix my brights. The switch isn't catching for some reason.. so I disabled the airbag and took off the steering wheel to see if there was something loose (I thought a screw was missing). But all pieces appear to be intact.. I'm an over cautious chick so I NEED the brights Anyone ever have this problem? Thanks guys!!!

just to expand, it is the switch that is funky. the base place of the switch is loose from the column, so when you pull on the stalk it doesnt engage the bright switch.. does anybody know how this plate attaches to the column, 'case presently.. its not

It mounts to the Ignition Switch ASM which mounts to the column jacket. If I had a scanner I would show you. It mounts with 2 #10-24 screws.

lyle, are those 2 screws behind the column cover? (ie, gotta remove the airbag, crap behind it, ignition etc?)

Where are you looking at this? I have a GM manual if you have the page number. thanks!

I sent that when I was at home for lunch, I'll be back there later but I found it under Steering Column in the index. I can't remember exactly. I'm thinking that you will have to remove the steering wheel to get to it though.
