quick/easy mileage/odo question
quick/easy mileage/odo question
For all you digital mileage guys: is the mileage strictly in the gauge cluster or does the PCM have something to do with the memory? I'm 99% sure the guage cluster handles all the mileage, but I could be wrong.
Story behind it: my new Impala SS has a faulty guage cluster and I'm simply going to replace it with one where the mileage is close. Now, I know these are different cars, but they both run LT1's and should both be very similar.

I think it is all stored in the gauge and not in the pcm , if it was in the pcm when you do a swap with someplace that tunes your computer you mileage would change
When you swap gauges you can simply unplug the digital odo part and transfer it to the new cluster
I have an extra one that has low mileage from a LS1 when i changed my gauges to the LS1 camaro style but i never tried to plug it in to change the odo but i am pretty sure it would work
