Quick Dumb Question.......

OK I have only 2 bolts holding my camshaft timing chain sprocket on. There are supposed to be three but one was bad stripped and broken so i just put two in with thread locker.

How much time do you think i have before the car blows up

Might come loose after 40K miles.

Might be less.

Depends on your driving habits.

Unhappy

It has been running for about 2 weeks now without any problems.

I am a terrible mechanic and did want to go through the trouble of rethreading it and removing the broken screw. I tryed to remove the broken screw but i drill in crooked and bombed the threads.

ARE you sure it will fly apart in less than 40k???

If so i think it is a good time to sell the piece that has given me nothing but problems that i barely had enough money to replace.

The last person that had it before me did not tighten the bolts on the Camshaft timing sprocket tight enough and without thread locker..... (All the bolts were loose and one broke from torsional strain). I was glad to find my loud metallic knocking noise that i thought was a lifter. I bought new grade 5 bolts.

What do you guys think??
