Re: questoin about electric water pumps
Thats a pretty good price for a pump. I belive I paid 215 for mine. Anyways mine works great, I love it. But it was already installed when I got the car so I cant tell you how easy the instilation went, but it dosnt look that hard at all.
Re: questoin about electric water pumps
You might want to look at Summit...They have one of "their brands" (don't know who makes it) that has a 10,000 hour seal life for $179.95. I think CSI and Meziere have 2000-2500 hour seal lives...
I am debating the electric wp also while my motor is out. Been running a stock pump since 1995...its always worked and never left me stranded...I do hear of lots of people with electric wp with horror stories of them failing...Just don't know if its worth it for a street car...but I'm on the fence...

Re: questoin about electric water pumps
it doesnt... they can say it will last however long they want.. there is no warrenty or garrentee... go with meziere ive been running their pump forever and its great.. you pick up performance and better off your car will run cooler..
the reason everyone at the bolton shootout ran it is so they can flip a switch inbetween runs to bring their engine temps back down... its very handy at the track if you are in a constantly stop and go line of cars waiting to run...there are horror stories of it failing, but if you hardwire it through a fuse and not a relay you will be fine... i think mine is wired through the air pump fues or something.....
only downside is that it will draw amps and you might run on the low side of your volt gauge... o well
