questions on a little of everything please help!

hey guys so the 383 runs, but not great. we just have to get some bugs worked out. anyways i have some questions that i definately need some help with.

#1 the bushing on the input shaft presses in the crank but is way! loose on the input shaft like a 1/4" side to side play. this cant be right can it, although it doesnt look like its worn looks like it was machined that way?

#2 due to buying used headers which i didnt know the flanges were way warped on i had to surface the sh#t out of them to get em flat again. now the drivers side hits on my oil filter hard. what should i do? can i run a smaller filter?

#3 im sure ill have to go through all the checks on this engine but any guesses as to whats wrong with it. it has these symptoms, starts and idles fine, misses under medium and up acceleration, throttle response feels very weak, and the power isnt there even though i haven't hit it hard yet


i know i have more questions just cant think of them anyhelp would be great!

#4 i read somewhere on here you didnt have to get your flywheel zero balanced because they just put a counter weight (which you remove to neutral balance) on it in order to externally balance the whole engine assembly. i looked at my flywheel (t56) and it has no counter weight just holes whats up?

Well they drilled holes to balance it. Ya got to drill the EXACT same koles at EXACTLY the same spot on the other side.

#1 what bushing?
#2 yes a stock one
#3 get it done.

brass bushing that press fits inside the crank shaft that the input shaft of my M6 tranny fits into.
i am running the stock oil filter and it hits on the side about an inch from the bottom is there anything else i can try?
