Ok this iwnter i am tearing my motor down. I am haveing he block bored.030 over for 100 dollars. I was going to order the sealed power kit from summit for $550. Well I went and talked to the guy doing the work on the block and he said he can get me the sealdpower kit for 500 dollars. great huh Wll then ashe was going threw his new book he said he couldnt find the stuff for the lt1. he made some calls while i was gone and called me on my cel. he said he called his suplier and they had it. So im sure it is the lt1.
anyways i was wondering if there is a diffrence between a reg 350 piston, and a lt1 piston
also on the sealedpower piston, will i have any probs with running the 847 cam. i know with a stock piston the valve wont slap the piston, but are the sp pistons diffrent, or something to worry about.
also is there some good rods to buy for someone on a real tight budget.
iknow the stock rods are good for around 450 hp, but iknow alot of people with over 500 to the wheels on the stock bottom end. anything i can do to make the stock rods stronger (doubt it)
i thought aboutt rying to get mybe a budget 383 kit, well rods and cranks.. anyone know a good place to get one. price also
thanks for all the help guys

Re: questions
The piston ring are different between a regular 350 and an LT1, the LT1 rings are thinner. Also LT1 pistons are short skirted as apposed to the reg 350 to support high rpm.
It wont be a problem to run the 847 on the sp pistons, they’re flat tops just like stock.
Stock rods are strong for most applications, later model LT1’s have different and slightly stronger rods. You can put ARP rod bolts to make them stronger.
