what is the metal part in the original air intake on my lt1 camaro that is waffled inside and has a plug indo i do away with that when puting in an after market cai

 

I believe your talking about your Mass Air Flow sensor. MAF. You need to provide info about your car though so I can be positive. Your new CAI should only go right up to that. No you do not get rid of that, its pretty important
