if you SHAVE it, there is less metal and less to attract the electricity anyway

how can an MSD and a stronger coil not add power but incorrectly gapping the plug will add power.
right when your done, go descreen your MAF and add a TB spacer or an air foil
Exactly what i was thinking! Why not just decrease the gap instead of shaving it. Takes a lot less time to reduce the gap than shave 8 spark plugs down????

I have the bosch platinums +4's in my car since christmas of 02, no problems at all. At that time I installed ceramic coated MAC's and flowmaster cat back. I also have K&N CAI, with the TPIS Airfoil.....I gotta tell you, the best $1,500 ive invested in any car. Im linked up on an M6 and its crazy, ive got traction problems on 245's already. I downshift from 3rd to 2nd (at stock hp) I didnt peel out, but picked up real nicely. After all these mods, I downshifted from 3rd to 2nd (headers, CAI, airfoil, +4's, cat back) and smashed it in, I was ALLL OVER the road and picking up speed like a biatch from hell. I just loved it! Horsepower is addictive I'll tell you, ever since all this stuff, I've been dying for a 383 stroker. My friend has a 95 Z with 275's on the rear and edelbrock headers...he liked my headers a lot better. You can see the spark plugs unlike on his and mine come down a little longer, the MAC's are mid-length while the Edelbrocks are shorties.

As was mentioned. Cutting the ground electrode to unshroud the center electrode may give you better spark exposure, but will also reduce plug life. It's not a new concept, but hardly worth the effort, given the hassle it takes to swap out the plugs, initially and thereafter. JMHO

Angry Talk bout morons

Ok folks i havent been around to repost but the post from racinmyz28 was from me. Let set the record straight.

He told me bout this mod, that ranks ther with spark plug INDEXING, it talks about unshrouding the electrode so you have more spark exposure to the cumbustion chamber so you burn everything and gain back what normally would be lost due to un-optimal spark.

THE SPARK ARCS FURTHER!

Thats all it is. When he mentioned this to me while working on his car. I said well if you want to do it. Go for it. He did it and thats why he got for dyno results. I'll look for that stupid mag cus he has like 1000''s of them but ill find it and post so people can read it.

But really talk bout people who say the most idiotic things......

Stock LT1 ignition systems can handle a decent amount of power, even with N20, or blower stocker will hold its own (bearly), but increasing the gap essentally on spark plug on a stock motor the stock ign. can handle, we only put a blaster 2 coil cus, we had a ignition/fuel problem that turned out to be a fuel pump and 3 burnt wires. But we replaced everything. Opti, wires plugs coil filters and fuel pump. I dunno if it was worth more power dyno wise but ensured he got a FULL spark (trey)

A good tune up so that all components work near maxinum are ALWAYS worth some power, that you would lose normally. Just because people doesnt understand certain concepts like this, doesnt mean it should be easily dismissed as being a stuipid mod not worth anything.

Thats plain retarded.

From: looking for a flow bench so Brook and I can race
just gap them,
no need to unshroud
just gap the God damn plug
dont file it, shim it, sand it or anything

just get a gapper and gap it propperly!!
thats just common sense, not a free mod

ps
we dont like it when we are called morons in here
