Question on Corvette servo on the A4

I have been reading about installing a corvette servo in my A4, and have some questions. I currently have PCMforless programming where he raised the line pressure. Would this hurt to add the corvette servo. Also, theres a number of different kit's, there's just the two piece that allows 1-2 firmer shifts and another that talks about holding 4th longer and quicker 4-3 down shifts and firmer 3-4 shifts with a valve and spring. Could somebody clarify. I wouldn't mind doing this as long as I don't have to remove the tranny. Could somebody fill me?

It wouldn't hurt to get it... It will help the life of the tranny a little too.

I've read that increasing line pressure with the addition of a shift kit is bad. I've also read a few things that shift kits in the A4 are not a good idea. There's a kit with the corvette servo and the booster, but the booster increases line pressure also. Should I just get the servo since I already have my line pressure increased through programming? Sounds like the servo allows firmer shifts only closer to WOT. Somebody with some good experience with this let me know. Thanks.

Don't know if true, but there have been posts saying that our trannies already had the Corvette servo.

I have also heard that the 4L60E's in the Camaro/Firebirds already have the corvette servo. If you want to upgrade your servo then Superior makes a billet servo that has 35% more apply surface area than the Corvette servo and is supposed to shift harder. I have one that I am planning to install in the next couple of weeks.

Also my tranny guy has a 4L60E in his truck and he is running a Transgo shift kit set to the step right below the full manual control and he also has quite a few other things done along with increased line pressure like provided with a programer and he is having no problems.

Just a thought.

That kind of blows since I already order the servo and piston. It was only $10 with seals.

Could someone verify if we have the updated corvette servo and piston in our A4. I'll cancel my order if I already have it. Thanks

I know 96 and up has the corvette servo, and I think the 94-95 does have it also.

Re: Question on Corvette servo on the A4

Wll, did anyone ever find out about 94's?

Or at least how I could tell them apart. I already ordered a new vette servo because I think my original one went out.

Re: Question on Corvette servo on the A4

The guys ATS in Waupun, who put my tranny shift kit in also said the corvette servo is in the 4l60E. He knows his stuff. He rebuilds many 4l60e and way to many 700R4. His most common rebuild.
