Thumbs up question about the y-tips on the hooker catback

I was wondering if htey had anything to do with sound. I am gonna be getting hte zz409 cam, LT headers, no cats and the hooker catback, I like the stcok tips better but would that have an effect on the sound?
how will that setup sound anyway?

Believe it or not, they do. I really can't explain how, but after I installed mine last dec. I left the tips off for a while since I just polished them and wanted it to cure. I took it out for a spin with just the pipes, noticed(and enjoyed) the sound, and came back. Later I put the tips on, did a second run through town (the cops here hate me, BTW ), and the tone did change noticeably. It sounded great. But I'm going for these tips here this summer:

Scroll down to the SS Camaro tip (center inlet). The twin tips look ok, but the factory flare tips have always looked the best, IMO.
