Question question about takin gcat out and sound with flowmaster

how much louder would my flowmaster 80 sries muffler be when I get my headers, and no cat in? will I be able to tell a difference in sound?
any help is appreicated... I am considering the magnaflow muffler or hooker muffler with 3in piping, but if my flowmaster gets louder I won't
thanks

i have the american thunder cat back with no cats and bbk shorty headers, and its pretty loud. Kinda irritating at an idle (ya know, that low resonating sound) rattles your brains out in stop and go traffic, but on the highway when you hit overdrive and the converter locks up, its as quiet as a church mouse on sunday, like the best of both worlds, i would definately do it again, hope this helps, prorac1

you'll DEFIENTLY tell a sound difference. When i swapped my cat for an ORP, it was the best movie i ever did. I LOVE the sound. With the headers it made a difference, but not as much as removing the cat...

I have Hooker LT's with a Mufflex Y-Pipe that has no cats. I also have a Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust. Adding headers with-out a cat will make a big difference in sound. It will be much louder and sound meaner. I have this set-up and I find it too quiet. I have a cut-out, but if I open it I am afraid of getting pulled over for being too loud. I will soon install a electric cut-out so I can turn it on and off.

I suggest installing your headers and getting rid of your cats. If this is to quiet for you , install a cut-out.
