question about part numbers

is there a website or perhaps a manual that contains all of the part numbers for our cars? just curious. one reason is because trying to navigate gmpartsdirect.com is a pain in the *** without a part number. and second, the people at the dealership are some real *** pirates about giving out a part number. every time i ask the guy for a number, he gives me attitude for making him do his job. then "turbo" spits out the number like a crazed auctioneer and hangs up the phone before i can get a chance to verify the number i had tried to speedily scribble down. oh, and just some advice, you had better make damn sure youve got your pen and paper ready because they aint waiting for you to grab them. anyways, thanks for any help.

You can buy your own parts CD here http://www.whiteracingproducts.com/parts_cd or get one off Ebay. Be warned that there are some Firebird ones that are not complete.
