Question about mufflers

I've got magnaflow catback and the exhaust sound is a little to quiet for me. This is probably a stupid question but can you just put a louder muffler on? If so whats the loudest/deepest sound you can buy?

Get a cut-out installed. Cheap and easy to get installed from your local muffler shop. (only if they are willing...lol)
You will get negative and positive feed back on this topic. So look at all your options before deciding.

I don't know if emissions is an issue for you, but if it isn't than I would suggest removing your cat first and see how you like the muffler then. If should make a world of difference sound level wise.

Why would you get rid of a magnaflow? ITs very deep sounding and the best sounding exhaust I have heard. DO NOT GUT THE CATS! Take them off . You will be pleased with a magnaflow catback with no cats. Its not raspy it all. Just makes it twice as loud. Or get a cutout. Your choice.

My manaflow was real quiet also till i put 2000 miles on it then it got louder. Then when the Jet Hot long tubes went on with the 3" offroad Y pipe & exhaust pipe it became unbearbale. Now I'm going to have a resnator installed to quite it down.

just get a flowmaster or a more restrictive muffler and it should quirte it down to make it bearable.

cutout

cutout - you have a nice catback, why take it apart? I would just get a cutout installed first, then decide if you want more. Also, removing those cats and welding in some straight pipe is another option... so just go ahead, install a cutout, decide whether or not you wish to leave it uncapped, and if its not enough get rid of those cats...i just say start w/ the cutout 1st since its less work to tighten 3 wingnuts that it is th put some cats back in.........

A bullet resonator before the catback will cut the edge off the tone and make it bearble for those who've had enough of loud constant droning on acceleration. I had one then put a moroso spiral twister bullet inline (46.99 at Jegs) before the rear end and now my Magnaflow is still very freeflowing but only slightly louder than my old stock 98 SS muffler. If you want loud, an adjustable electric cut out is the way to go. Then you can set it however loud you want from muffled to open exhaust or anywhere in between.
