Question about harmonic balancer installation
Question about harmonic balancer installation
We just got done installing a Fluidampr on the '97 Z28, and the car started missing after the installation. After getting the car back home, I started wondering about something we did during installation. To bring the key on the crank to a more favorable position to work on, we turned the engine slightly. What I am wondering is, does turning the crank while the ignition is off have any affect on the crank position sensor? In other words, could the missing be due to the crank sensor position not reading correctly because we turned the crank slightly with the ignition off?
Since the Fluidampr unit is keyed and only goes on one way, I assumed it doesn't matter but I just want to confirm that I didn't mess something up. Thanks.
