Question about dropping the motor out the bottom
I have a 95 Z28 Auto and I'm getting ready to drop the motor out of it. I have everything disconnected that needs to be except for the brake lines and the part of the harness that goes to the transmission. I figured that I could get the trans wiring once i have it dropped down some, but I'm not quite sure what to do with the brake lines. Especially the hard line running across to the passenger side. Should I just disconnect it at the joint where the rubber meets the hard line and at the brake box and leave it on the K-member or whatever that piece is called? Or should I go through the trouble of taking that line all the way off? I think that it has some stays going across the member and looked like it would be difficult to get off. I'm just wondering if I'm running a risk of damaging it by leaving it on there? I had planned on leaving the traction control box and the brake boxes on there as well. I'm just looking for a little guidance as this is my first time dropping a motor out of a F-body. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Here's a site with a pretty decent check list.

Re: Question about dropping the motor out the bottom
You disconnect the front brake lines at the ABS unit (also remove some shielding, IIRC) and fish them out as the engine drops down. You'll have to lightly bend them a little, but with reasonable care, they can be put back to right at install.
