Question Question?

Hello everyone!
I am new here, but I had a question about a 95 camaro z28. I have taken it to several mechanics and they have hooked up the computer to it and done diagnostics tests but none of them have been able to find whats wrong. When ever you take off, sometimes it takes a while for it to shift to the next gear. Also yesterday as I was driving, I got it up to about 55 or so and I heard a loud thump under the hood somewhere and after that thump the exhaust sytem was much louder. And also after the thump everytime it came to a stop it got really calm to the point where I though it would die. I don't know a lot about these cars so any advice would sure help and be appreciated. Thanks so much!! Take Care.

Re: Question?

As far as the shifting gears, have you tried to adjust the d-tent cable? It is right at the TB. Adjusting the cable will change when it shifts gears. Also, your tranny filter may be clogged causing low fluid pressure. There are several things that would cause this to happen so I would use some trial and error to figure it out. As far as the thump, sounds like part of the exhaust has come apart somewhere. If it is before the o2 sensor, it will run like crap and run rich. Try looking around and see if anything looks disconnected.

Re: Question?

With you having late shifts and your car seems to want to die at idle you might want to have the catalytic converter checked.I work at a tranny shop and sometimes when the catalytic converter stops up it will cause the tranny to act up.Most likely if it was the filter clogged it would cause it to slip but who knows.
Good luck

Re: Question?

FYI 95's do not have a "detent" or, more acurately, a Throttle Valve (TV) cable. The transmissions are electronically controlled. 93 was the last year for the TV cable.
