Q: about Fuel line disconnect tool

Im trying to disconnect the fuel lines on the back of the intake manifold. I have the Lisle kit. Im trying to make sure Im using it right before I damage something. Im using the 3/8 peice and am pushing it under the rubber sleeve in the direction away from the intake manifold. Is this correct?

hey what's up fellow houstonian anyways do you know of any good body shops around here! jokeing.. I wont hack your thread um I forgot which size I used I think I've used both actually you just pull off the rubber cover and stick it in untill it's as far as it will go then take the fuel line a push it toward the manifold. You'll probably hear a faint click if I remember correctly then continue to pull the tool in there and pull out the fuel line. some times you have to play with it a little bit but it's not hard.

ABC auto down in the Pearland area, off of Telephone road and Beltway 8. They do great frame work. They redid my friend Joes camaros whole front end after he ran into a truck that went through a red light. It took them a while but the car looks better than new. They also pulled out my rockerpanel and fixed cracks in the fiberglass on my door. Only took 4 days and it looks like they replaced both AND they did it for half of what the womans insurance gave me.

The address is 7845 Lettie, phone number is 713-987-2111 ask for Mike. Tell him Daniel with Green Camaro sent you.

Yup, that is correct. Like the guy above said, pull back the rubber protector, then push the tool in under the lip as far as it will go. Then, with the tool in place, push and pull the fuel line firmly in and out until it lets go. It's a piece of cake, unless it sticks.

Thanks for the help guys

Heres a picture of my friend Joes camaro.

I dont have one of it before, but the front clip, and both front quarter panels were shattered into peices. The whole front part of the frame was bent. The car looks better than new, their work was flawless. Just make sure to tell them you want the flex additive added to the paint if their painting your front clip or rear bumper cover.

My first line (smaller line) came right off.

The larger line didn't no matter what I did. I then unclicked the tool (which I was pressing towards the cowl away from the intake), and turned it slightly and put it back in. After 4 times pulling it down and turning it slightly, it worked.

Its just a matter of getting the unit in there right. If you hear the click its working, just pull it down turn and do the same.

If you have to pull on the line with more force that what it takes to pickup a small object its not going to come with the tool in that position.
