You can get it at any GM dealer. I'm not exactly sure on the price, but it's not very expensive, something like $30 or so i believe.

I got mine from www.gmpartsdirect.com but they charge a fortune for shipping. Might want to try Jason Cromer in Fla. About $35-$45.

DeeZ,

Go back and do it the way Lunarson described earlier, loosen them completely then retighten them from there, he gave a good responce. Thats what i would have told you to do!

I put mine on last summer going 3/4 turn past the point of rotational drag on the Push Rods. I actually lost time in the 1/4 afterwards. Don't know whether that was because of the rockers being over tight or bad weather.

Anyway, I did the HC over the winter and this time only went to 1/2 past drag, and the rockers are quite audible; not obnoxious sounding or anything, but definitely audible. 1.6 Pro Mag Non SA BTW. Runs good.

Bottom line: Your daddy is gonna hear them if you do 1/2 turn.

H=ll, he probably knows what you're doing, and he's just keeping his mouth shut.

ps will it hurt any thing if the rockers are over tightend and i drive it to my buddies house to finish it up.

Like I said before, in my experience, if you don't hear any tapping, they are too tight. Will it hurt to run like this? Not terribly, but you'l give up as much or more performance than you gained by going to 1.6 RR in the first place.

YMMV

OK, I'm doing thois right now. I buttoned everything back up after doing the TDC tightening technique... started the car up, and rockers sounded pretty loud, hood was up.

So I've got the driver's side valve cover off now. Loosened the locking screw. Started the car, and started tightening the nuts some more... I can't tell which one is clacking and which one isn't...

I get to a point where the idle rpms crap out, just from one nut... once the car almost died. Then it recovers to normal, and I'm not locking them down either. Is that too tight? I'm guessing so, lol.

So did I have everything fine probably? They're just noisy? Passenger side is still all together, I'd hate to mess with that again.

Stevil, it sounds like you were tightening them down a bit tight if it just about stalls the motor. If you can't identify your specific rocker "clacking"... grab a screwdriver and place one end on your ear and the other to the desired rocker. You'll hear the noise. Then just slowly tighten a little and recheck. The sound will eventually go away... that is zero lash. Then give 1/2 turn.

Then go from there.
