pushrod question...

I know this is probably a really dumb question, but if I am running a 383 blower set up, would I need a different length pushrod than the norm? I just don't want to buy some and then find out that they worn't work. Thanks for the help. Jason

Re: pushrod question...

Your pushrod length is affected by several things...The block being decked, the heads being surfaced, longer valves, or if you're running a small base circle cam. The easist way to check is to use an adjustable pushrod, and check the "scrub" on your valve tips. Once you have the correct contact area, order the length pushrods that you've determined from the adjustable one. The only way to know for sure if you'll need a different length is to check when the engine is assembled.

Remember, stock LT1 pushrods are only 7.2".
