Purchased hotcam today

Well I just pruchased my hotcam kit from Jason Cromer, pending the finalization tomorrow. So anyway now that I have purchased the kit what else will I need? What kinda timing chain would be good? gaskets? Any other mods recommended while doing this?

technically, u don't NEED much else for the cam kit, but a few things are recommended while ur in there. One thing U will need is a Cam Swap gasket set. Most GM part or car dealers will have them.

i would recommend changing ur timing chain to that of an LT4 timing chain. Or get the extreme timing chain kit by GM performance.

I wouldn't recommend any other mods except headers during this time. depending on ur mileage, i would look into maybe replacing ur water pump, distributer, and opti. (depending on their condition)

Well I just put a new waterpump on it last year, but I was thinking about changing the opti. I also asked about the timing chain Jason Cromer said the stock chain was fine but the extreme duty was good if you would be revving over 6000 alot. I figured I may as well buy an aftermarket or stock chain just to stay away from the stretching of the factory chain. Just wondering what would be good cuz my car will rarely if ever be revved over 6 grand.

Hardened rods if your car is a 96 or 97. Extreme timing chain. Lifters if yours have alot of miles on them.

Well I called Jason today to see if everything went through and it did. When I do the install of the cam I plan on going ahead and putting on a CSI electric waterpump and a new oil pump as well...Good anyone please give me some part #'s for a good oil pump? Also in Jegs noticed a cam installation package from crane and mr gasket...part # 720-4404K in Jegs. I also saw a mr gasket cam change gasket kit...anyone used mr gasket before? Hold up well?
