Aluminum Driveshaft
Anybody know where I can get one for my 87 T/A? Anybody know about how much it's going to cost me? I'm in Houston, Texas and hope to find one in the area. I'm hoping that I don't have to have one shipped in but if that's what I have to do then I'll do it. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!

I just got a 1LE aluminum driveshaft from Jason Cromer, he sells GM parts at near dealer cost, it was $236.00 delivered, it's a very nice piece. Another choice is the LS1 ds, it's not as strong as the 1LE and costs about $10 less. Their are also various other good aftermarket driveshafts available but most are around $300 or more.

GREGG 97Z, how do I get in touch with this Jason Cromer? teke184, if I go with a used ls1 driveshaft, is it going to need to be balanced? The guy at the shop I called said he'd do the labor for $60 if it was balanced.

Try clicking on the link in my response His # is on their website.
I've not heard of anyone having to have an LS1 ds balanced, even a used one but it's possible it may need to be. I used an LS1 ds on mine for several years, it eliminated the vibration I used to have with the stock steel vibeshaft.
