Re: pulling engine from top

I have done both, I definately prefer out the bottom. I have pulled it between me and my buddies cars several times out the bottom. That is the only way we will ever do it. Also do like we did, After we got it out the first time, put a tubular K-member in there. You will love it, especially come plug changing time.

Out the top has a tendency to bend your cal up some. Both work just fine. After we decided to try the bottom, we couldnt believe how easy it was and stuck with it.

Re: pulling engine from top

heres one: http://ken.lowrance.com/Projects/Hea...ineRemoval.htm

ive got another somewhere. ill have to look it up later though. hope this helps.

btw- might look hard but its not really. not if you have a decent set of tools anyways. also, use a motorcycle jack to drop the k member out ($60 at walmart). that way you can raise and lower the jack as needed and provides decent stability while moving the motor. also helps with putting the motor back in. makes it really easy to line up and raise into position. let me know if you have any other questions.

ah, people say what they want but the z is the only car i've been able to leave the hood on and pull the motor out.

first you need to pull the acessories, intake and wiring harness, yank out the tranny, fans and rad and pull it.

i'd like to try the bottom sometime then you don't have to remove so much but it is tricky.
