Pulling engine out

Hey, I just registered with the board, and I have a question. I am pulling the engine out of the Z28 today and I am redoing the Gaskets and such. Since I have the heads off I was wondering what can I do to get more horsepower? I wont have this chance to do it again, so quick responses would be great. BTW I have a 95 z28 with 6 speed. Its a great car. I just got it a week ago, I traded my 91 stealth TT for it.

are you doing a rebuild or just putting new gaskets in?
depending on how much downtime you want, and how much you can afford, you can have your heads ported, and get a different cam. Lloyd Elliot's name comes up on here quite a bit for that. I don't have any info on how to contact him though.
You can always go bigger displacement. Put forged pistons in if you plan on using nitrous, just to be safe.
that should give you a pretty good start. Then of course you add the bolt-ons in, full exhaust. CAI, etc, etc.

I say if you are going to replace the head gaskets then gasket match your heads and intake and get a valve job and bowl porting with new springs etc and a hotcam. Also now would be a good time to install headers if you don't already have them. This setup should give you about 330 - 360 rwhp and put you solidly in the low 12's.
